Performing Arts

This part of the Faculty has a large extra-curricular programme including an annual musical that is regarded as a highlight of the town calendar. Recent musicals include "The King and I", "My Fair Lady", "Camelot", "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat" and "West Side Story". The school runs a studio band that performs a range of music from blues and jazz to rock and ska. We conduct an annual tour performing shows to primary school audiences that are always enthusiastically received. The band also plays at events around the Lithgow area.

Drama also enjoys a high profile, in particular our Film Making department. These students learn their Drama skills through the medium of film and students regularly enter their completed projects in film competitions and festivals. In recent years our students have had two films selected to tour New South Wales in travelling film festivals and in 2008 our students won the prestigious Robin Anderson Film Award, a national award for young filmmakers.
